Our commitment to fair and ethical recruitment
This Charter sets out the standards we expect from ourselves and from everyone involved in delivering recruitment services through Osbrooks.
We believe that workers should not have to pay to access legitimate employment opportunities.
We also believe that responsibility for ethical recruitment does not end with our direct employees. Where third parties or sub-agents are involved in our recruitment chain, our standards apply to them as well.
Employer Pays Principle
Workers should not pay recruitment fees.
Osbrooks operates on an Employer Pays Principle.
Where Osbrooks is responsible for the recruitment process, workers should not be charged recruitment fees for obtaining employment.
We do not believe a worker should have to purchase access to a job.
This principle applies to the recruitment services we provide and forms part of the standard we expect throughout our recruitment chain.
Workers may still have legitimate personal expenses associated with employment, travel, documentation or other requirements where these are lawful and clearly disclosed.
Such costs must not be disguised recruitment fees.

Our Sub-Agent Policy
Where third parties or sub-agents are involved in sourcing or supporting candidates, they are expected to operate in accordance with the standards set out in this Charter.
Raising a Grievance
Workers should be able to raise concerns without fear of retaliation. A worker may contact Osbrooks if they believe that:
- They have been charged a recruitment fee
- A third party has requested payment for access to employment
- Their wages or agreed terms have been improperly changed
- Their documents have been improperly retained
- They have been misled about a role or working conditions
- They have experienced inappropriate treatment within the recruitment process
- A person acting on behalf of Osbrooks has breached this Charter

Our Standard
Osbrooks exists because recruitment is not only about filling vacancies. It affects people’s livelihoods, careers and families. Our responsibility is therefore straightforward No worker should have to pay for the opportunity to work. No recruitment partner should be permitted to undermine that principle. Where our chain causes harm, we take responsibility for addressing it.
